The battery bank ensures steady grid voltage during evening peak demand periods across the Northern Province. Addressing environmental and community feedback, Cabinet officials confirmed that future wind developments are capped strictly to mainland areas, safeguarding sensitive bird migration corridors and palmyrah reserves on Mannar Island proper.
