The facility seamlessly integrates long-distance Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) buses, private intercity coach services, and local feeder routes with direct pedestrian access to the main Anuradhapura railway station. Phase I infrastructure features spacious sheltered passenger bays, digital real-time bus arrival displays, centralized ticketing counters, accessible restrooms, and dedicated parking for electric three-wheelers and private vehicles. The layout drastically reduces traffic congestion in the city core by removing bus staging from narrow arterial streets. Urban Development Authority (UDA) planners confirmed that Phase II construction, incorporating a commercial retail complex and food court, is scheduled to commence before year-end.
