COLOMBO — The Cabinet of Ministers has granted formal approval to host Disrupt Asia 2026, Sri Lanka’s premier startup innovation conference and technology exhibition aimed at positioning the country as a dynamic regional tech hub.

Jointly organized by the Ministry of Digital Economy, GovTech Sri Lanka, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the flagship summit is designed to connect homegrown technology founders with regional angel investors, venture capital funds, and enterprise partners.

The 2026 edition will feature extensive startup pitch battles, deep-tech masterclasses, an interactive digital pavilion, and bilateral investor roundtables. Focus verticals include artificial intelligence, enterprise software-as-a-service (SaaS), agricultural tech (AgriTech), and clean technology innovations.

Government officials noted that fostering a competitive startup pipeline is a core pillar of Sri Lanka’s digital transformation roadmap, ensuring talented local developers and entrepreneurs have the capital access and market networks needed to scale globally from Colombo.
