The Department of Meteorology has issued a comprehensive weather warning forecasting fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm in several districts, including Colombo, Kalutara, Galle, and Ratnapura.

Residents across the Western Province are urged to exercise caution regarding strong winds and severe lightning. Showers are expected to intensify throughout the evening. Local authorities in Colombo have also advised the public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
