Strong westerly winds associated with an active low-pressure zone over the Andaman Sea have generated turbulent coastal sea conditions and swell waves reaching up to 3 meters along the southern coastline. Fishermen operating out of Galle, Dodanduwa, and Mirissa have been advised to secure craft within sheltered harbour basins until open-sea wave heights normalize.
