In alignment with the National Strategic Framework for the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Sector (2026–2035), Gampaha Technical College and the Vocational Training Authority (VTA) have partnered with industrial manufacturers in the Katunayake and Biyagama Export Processing Zones to launch advanced technical apprenticeships.

The dual-training curriculum offers National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 5 certifications in industrial robotics, mechatronics, and programmable logic controller (PLC) maintenance. Trainees will divide their coursework between college laboratories and factory shop floors, securing direct employment pathways in high-tech export apparel, packaging, and precision light engineering sectors across the Gampaha district.
