The initiative highlights Sri Lanka's ongoing compliance with the Kigali Amendment to phase down hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), featuring technical awards for certified refrigeration apprentices trained in natural hydrocarbon refrigerants. Botanical custodians noted that combining technical cooling innovation with urban canopy conservation preserves Henarathgoda's historic rubber research trees while mitigating regional heat island impacts across suburban Gampaha.
