With hydrological gauging stations recording minor flood stages at Panadugama and Thalgahagoda, disaster coordinating officials warned that low-lying agrarian communities and access roads in Pasgoda, Kotapola, Pitabeddara, Akuressa, Athuraliya, and Malimbada face waterlogging risks. Technical teams from the Irrigation Department have activated primary flood relief pumping stations in Matara town, maintaining continuous mechanical drainage to prevent backflow into urban commercial zones and agricultural paddy tracts.
