Sri Lanka's coastal hospitality sector received a major boost following confirmation that Kalutara District will serve as the host venue for the 8th edition of Raid Amazones, scheduled from November 2 to 10, 2026. The world-renowned women-only multi-sport adventure challenge will draw more than 250 elite international athletes and extensive global media delegations. Competition routes span Kalutara's scenic coastal stretches, river estuaries, and inland rubber plantation trails. Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) officials highlighted that the event will position Kalutara as a premier eco-adventure resort destination while generating substantial foreign exchange revenue for regional hoteliers.
