The Kurunegala Technical College has commenced classes for its first cohort of 350 technical trainees enrolled in newly accredited National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 4 and 5 courses in Electric and Hybrid Vehicle Diagnostic Mechatronics today, September 27, 2026.

Supported by leading national automotive engineering franchises and vocational development grants, the technical college equipped specialized workshops with computer-aided diagnostic rigs, high-voltage battery test simulators, and regenerative braking test benches. Faculty instructors explained that as Sri Lanka steadily expands electric commercial transport and e-motorcycles, skilled technical diagnosticians are in high market demand. The program guarantees paid industrial internships for all graduating students, equipping regional youth with high-paying modern technical careers.
