Marine meteorologists warned that deep monsoonal convergence over the south-western and southern waters will generate squalls and localized wind speeds reaching 55 to 65 kmph. The Galle Harbour Master and the Department of Fisheries have advised small-craft operators, multi-day deep-sea trawlers, and beach leisure operators to avoid venturing into open waters until atmospheric conditions stabilize over the weekend.
