GAMPAHA & COLOMBO β€” In response to seasonal viral fever patterns and vector surveillance advisories, the Ministry of Health has reinforced clinical triage protocols and diagnostic infrastructure across primary base and teaching hospitals in the Western Province.

Hospital directors at the Colombo National Hospital, Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children, and Negombo District General Hospital have operationalized dedicated round-the-clock Fever Corners equipped with rapid Full Blood Count (FBC) testing analyzers to ensure rapid patient stratification and early diagnosis.

Clinical guidelines established by the Sri Lanka College of Pediatricians and the Ministry of Health emphasize careful fluid balance management, minimizing unnecessary hospital admissions while providing high-dependency intensive care monitoring for vulnerable patients.

Health authorities reaffirmed that Sri Lanka's universal public healthcare network maintains ample stocks of essential rehydration solutions, medical fluids, and diagnostic test kits, ensuring every citizen receives prompt and professional medical care.
