The National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA) and the Gampaha District Vocational Training Centre inaugurated an expanded technical apprentice enrollment program in Gampaha today, September 26, 2026.

Targeting 350 school-leavers and diploma aspirants, the intake provides hands-on dual-training apprenticeships in precision CNC machining, hybrid automobile diagnostics, and industrial mechatronics across partnered engineering firms in the Mirigama and Biyagama export zones. Vocational directors noted that graduating apprentices receive globally recognized National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 4 and 5 credentials, creating high-skill career pathways for regional youth in Sri Lanka's expanding high-tech manufacturing sector.
