Regional rain gauge stations recorded cumulative precipitation exceeding 75 mm within 24 hours across the boundary hills separating Kurunegala and Kegalle districts. District disaster management officers have advised families residing in hillside villages and near railway cutting slopes to remain vigilant for emerging soil cracks, sudden tilting of utility poles, and turbid spring discharges, urging immediate evacuation if rainfall continues unabated.
