The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has placed the Neluwa Divisional Secretariat Division in Galle District under a Level 3 (Red) landslide evacuation warning today, September 21, 2026, valid through 10:00 p.m. tonight.

Surrounding divisions, including Nagoda, Elpitiya, and Thawalama, remain under Level 2 (Amber) advisories. Disaster Management Center (DMC) emergency coordination teams have mobilized to assist families in vulnerable valleys of the Gin Ganga river catchment, where persistent monsoon precipitation has triggered slope instability and localized flash flood threats.
