Hundreds of Advanced Level graduates, school leavers, and parents attended the annual Open Day organized by the Sri Lanka Institute of Information Technology (SLIIT) Kurunegala Center today, September 20, 2026.

The event offered academic counseling, interactive robotics demonstrations, and direct scholarship assessments for prospective students pursuing Bachelor of Science honors degrees in software engineering, cyber security, and interactive media. Academic deans noted that expanding tertiary educational access in Kurunegala allows regional youth to acquire internationally accredited computing degrees without needing to relocate to the Western Province.
