AMPARA — The Faculty of Applied Sciences at the South Eastern University of Sri Lanka (SEUSL) successfully convened its 15th Annual Science Research Session (ASRS 2026), showcasing pioneering empirical research across biological, physical, and chemical disciplines.

The symposium, held at the university’s Oluvil campus under the theme of "Integrated Science for Sustainable Regional Development," featured over 40 peer-reviewed research papers presented by academic researchers from across Sri Lanka and partner international institutions.

Prominent research tracks included green nanoparticle synthesis for agricultural pest management, water purification techniques utilizing bio-waste adsorbents, and coastal biodiversity monitoring across the Eastern Province using satellite telemetry.

Academic leadership emphasized that fostering grassroots scientific innovation in regional universities is vital for addressing localized agricultural, climate, and public health challenges, while offering high-impact research opportunities for postgraduate scientists.
