The Central Cultural Fund (CCF), in close collaboration with the custodians of the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy, has installed advanced microclimate telemetry sensors across the inner sanctum and historic timber pavilions of the temple complex.

The electronic monitoring network measures ambient humidity, wood moisture content, and micro-vibrations in real time, alerting conservation architects to dangerous moisture saturation levels caused by persistent southwestern monsoon showers. Heritage engineers noted that maintaining optimal environmental conditions inside the 17th-century chambers protects sacred Kandyan lacquer work, ivory carvings, and painted timber ceilings from fungal decay and damp-induced warping.
