COLOMBO — The Sri Lanka Association for Software and Services Companies (SLASSCOM), in collaboration with academic institutions and technology leaders, has unveiled the schedule for Sri Lanka AI Week 2026, taking place from September 28 to October 4 under the banner theme "AI Amplified."

The multi-day summit aims to accelerate Sri Lanka's transformation from an IT service consumer into a high-tier developer and exporter of proprietary artificial intelligence solutions, directly supporting the national strategic target of US$ 5 billion in ICT export revenues by 2030.

Events throughout the week will include practical workshops on generative AI architectures, algorithmic ethics, machine learning applications in financial risk modeling, and large language model (LLM) fine-tuning for local languages.

Organizers highlighted that the initiative is complemented by university-level hackathons and specialized youth bootcamps designed to upskill thousands of software engineers and undergraduates in modern AI development frameworks.
