COLOMBO — Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) and the National Olympic Committee have officially announced the 15-member men's and women's national cricket squads selected to represent the nation at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

The women's squad will be spearheaded by veteran all-rounder and Asia Cup standout captain Chamari Athapaththu, entering the tournament as strong medal contenders following a string of dominant international white-ball performances. The men’s team will be captained by dynamic middle-order batter Sahan Arachchige, featuring an explosive combination of seasoned domestic performers and emerging young spin talent.

The women's T20 tournament commences on September 17, with the men's fixtures scheduled to begin on September 24 at the newly constructed international cricket stadium in Nagoya.

National selectors expressed high confidence in both contingents, emphasizing that the multi-sport Asian Games provide vital international championship pressure and podium glory for Sri Lankan cricket.
