The financial assistance framework provides affected farmers in Gelioya, Nawalapitiya, and Peradeniya with deferred loan repayment schedules, interest-free working capital advances for replacement seeds and organic fertilizer, and expedited crop insurance assessments. Bank regional managers stated that providing rapid liquidity to riverside agrarian communities is crucial to safeguarding vegetable supply chains and preventing severe debt distress following sudden monsoon inundations.
