COLOMBO — Theatre enthusiasts in Colombo are set for a masterclass in avant-garde stagecraft as Tim Crouch's internationally acclaimed, Obie Award-winning play 'An Oak Tree' opens at the iconic Lionel Wendt Theatre on September 16, 2026.

Renowned for its groundbreaking deconstructive format, the play features a two-person cast where one actor guides a second guest performer who has neither read the script nor rehearsed prior to walking onto the stage under the spotlight. Tonight's opening performance features versatile Sri Lankan actress Tehani Chitty, followed by comedian and dramatic actor Dino Corera on September 17.
