A high-level diplomatic and economic delegation concluded the Eastern Province Investment Forum in Trincomalee today, September 24, 2026, marking a pivotal step forward in positioning Trincomalee natural harbour as an international industrial transshipment hub.

Organized in coordination with the Ministry of Investment Promotion and the Board of Investment (BOI), the summit brought together heads of foreign missions and global port infrastructure developers. Bilateral discussions focused on establishing export processing clusters, cold-chain fisheries logistics, and dedicated renewable hydrogen storage zones, leveraging Trincomalee's natural deep-water anchorage to serve maritime shipping routes across the Bay of Bengal.
