Following the successful conclusion of its 'From Research to Publication' scientific workshop, the Faculty of Siddha Medicine at the University of Jaffna has launched a comprehensive laboratory validation project focusing on native medicinal flora.

Working from its Kaithady research complex, faculty biochemists and pharmacologists are utilizing high-performance liquid chromatography to isolate active therapeutic alkaloids from traditional endemic herbs used for chronic metabolic disorders. Lead researchers noted that documenting the biochemical efficacy of native plants under rigorous international clinical benchmarks will bridge indigenous medicinal knowledge with modern pharmaceutical research.
