The Department of Mass Communication at the University of Kelaniya officially launched a new curriculum track in digital journalism and cross-platform media production today, September 22, 2026.

Developed under recent international media cooperation initiatives, the curriculum equips undergraduates with practical competencies in data verification, mobile journalism (MoJo), and automated newsroom technologies. Faculty dean and senior lecturers noted that the program aims to elevate professional reporting standards and prepare Sri Lankan communication graduates for global digital publishing and multimedia broadcasting careers.
